About

  • History

PPS was formed in 2012. It was the next step in the evolution of founder John Ellinwood’s professional path in the A/E/C industry. After architecture school at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and stints in architecture and construction management around New England, John committed to chasing his dream in the Great Frontier. In the winter of 1998, he packed his Toyota Tacoma and made his way across the country and up the Alaska Highway from Boston to Anchorage. John was employed by a well-established Anchorage engineering/management firm where he rose to the position of Vice President before striking out on his own in 2005 to establish Origin Technical Services, Inc. Four years into Origin, John was presented with an offer from an Alaska Native Corporation to purchase his company. The offer was too good to refuse. In 2012, PPS Consulting picked up where Origin left off and has continued to grow and thrive over the last decade. None of this history would have been possible without our clients, especially the clients that have grown with us since the very beginning. We are profoundly grateful to our clients, former, existing, and future, and will continue to apply the same gritty determination that got us here to the successful realization of your projects and prosperity of your communities.

  • Our People

The PPS staff is the whole reason that we are able to continually provide such a high level of service and success to our clients. We believe that you’ll find our staff unique. Beyond their technical expertise, our staff members – without exception- bring an unwavering positive attitude, strong work ethic, compassion, and collaborative team spirit to each and every thing we work on. These are truly exceptional people.

Our diverse staff includes specialists in Project Management, Architecture, and Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Cold Climate construction. We live, work, and play in Alaska, and are intimate with the challenges of getting things done in this great state of ours. We have the passion, tenacity, skill, and experience to meet any endeavor head-on, wherever that may be.

In those rare interludes between work and family we can be found enjoying Alaska’s great outdoors, climbing the highest mountains, sailing across the North Atlantic, or competing in combat sports and adventure races.
